Blaise Rosenthal makes conversation and he makes paintings, some diptychs that talk to one another, that do the same. His offering in both departments is thoughtful, careful, well-planned but not rehearsed, subtle and directed at once.  He allows for myriad interpretations;  viewers and listeners may see or hear as they please. Rosenthal is happy to lead you to water and to have you drink. Your choice.

The "Aquarius" or "water bearer" Sandoz Art Award is given to those who share or give freely, providing clarity, community and the possibility of appreciating smaller moments that bear broader communities and/or broadened horizons.

(Rosenthal's work exhibited at Johannson Projects Gallery at Untitled Art Fair in Miami, December 2015. Please note that I did not read the artist's statement until after I went to post this piece.)

Good job, Blaise.  Your name sounds like "fire" but you are this year's "water bearer".
